The Group is changing its name to “Plesio” (derived from the Greek word for “proximity”) and, as of today, is adopting a new identity to reinforce its positioning within the local retail sector.
Since 2024, the Group has placed proximity at the heart of its business model and strategy, with the ambition of building a retail approach rooted in human connection and tailored to each local area.
To support this transition, the Group is unveiling a new, modern, and reassuring logo. It was selected to unite the Group’s seven brands—Monoprix, Casino, Spar, Vival, Cdiscount, Franprix, and Naturalia—around a shared vision. Simple, concise, and memorable, the name “Plesio” evokes the joy of engaging in commerce, welcoming customers, and providing service.
“With this new identity, Plesio, we are taking a further step in the Group’s development, guided by a single conviction: the future of retail lies in proximity. Plesio thus becomes the ‘family name’ that unites our seven brands and embodies our ambition: to foster a form of retail that is both useful and human—one that simplifies daily life and builds connections. We intend to roll out our concepts, expand our takeaway food and service offerings, and provide our franchise partners with the tools they need to succeed—all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellent service,” states Philippe Palazzi, the Group’s CEO.
